Dr. Ronald D. Siegel

Dr. Ronald D. Siegel is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School, where he has taught for more than 35 years. He is a long-time student of mindfulness meditation and serves on the Board of Directors and faculty of the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy. He teaches internationally about the application of mindfulness practice in psychotherapy and other fields, and maintains a private clinical practice in Lincoln, Mass.

Dr. Siegel is co-author of the self-treatment guide Back Sense: A Revolutionary Approach to Halting the Cycle of Chronic Back Pain, which integrates Western and Eastern approaches for treating chronic back pain, and of the professional guide Sitting Together: Essential Skills for Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy. He also authored a book for general audiences, The Mindfulness Solution: Everyday Practices for Everyday Problems.

Dr. Siegel also served as co-editor of the critically acclaimed text Mindfulness and Psychotherapy, 2nd Edition and of Wisdom and Compassion in Psychotherapy: Deepening Mindfulness in Clinical Practice, with a foreword by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He is also a regular contributor to other professional publications and is co-director of the annual Harvard Medical School Conference on Meditation and Psychotherapy.

Mallika Marshall, MD

Mallika Marshall, MD, is an Emmy-award winning journalist and physician who serves as the regular Health Reporter at WBZ-TV in Boston. A practicing physician who is Board Certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics, Marshall serves on staff at Harvard Medical School and practices at the Massachusetts General Hospital's (MGH) Chelsea Urgent Care Clinic and MGH Revere Health Center. Marshall is currently a Contributing Editor for Harvard Health Publications, the publishing division of Harvard Medical School. Dr Marshall also has served as the host of “Dr. Mallika Marshall,” a series of health news reports that was nationally syndicated and aired in more than 70 markets, including major cities such as San Francisco, Atlanta, St. Louis, Cleveland, and Houston. A cum laude graduate of Harvard College, Marshall received her medical degree with honors at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. She completed her medical residency at Harvard in internal medicine and pediatrics.
